- Help info: How to Apply for your FRN (FCC registration number)
- Register to receive your FRN – you need an FRN before you can take an exam. There is no cost for this.
- Fill out the FCC form 605 – We will have these forms at the exam site.
- Arrive at the exam site, pay $15 to the Lake Area Radio Klub to take the exam.
Lake Area Radio Klub handles the submission of passing test results to our exam registrar, the American Radio Relay League (ARRL). The ARRL submits the results to the FCC for processing. Using your FRN you can check online to see the status of your application. This includes FCC assignment of your new call letters if applicable. If there are any glitches in the process LARK can work with the ARRL on your behalf to help complete the process.
